Bishop State Adult Education Program

Phlebotomy Technicians specialize in obtaining blood specimens by venipuncture and micro-collection techniques.  Phlebotomy Technicians learn how to collect and process specimens for the purpose of patient laboratory analysis. 

** Student MUST meet requirements for fee waiver**

Applicants must meet all the following requirements for eligibility: 

• Must reside in the State of Alabama. 
• Present a valid AL ID/Driver License
• Must have a High School Diploma/GED
• Meet the required TABE Reading eligibility score. 

Prerequisite (upon eligibility approval) 

• Complete Pre-Screening
• Complete the ACE Assessment. 
• Complete MAPS for Healthcare. 
• Attend the required program orientation. 
• Complete all enrollment documentation prior to the start of classes.
