Bishop State Adult Ed Department along with The Alabama Community Early Childhood Education program is offering a comprehensive 12-week training course designed to prepare and inspire the next generation of early childhood educators. 

Benefits:

  • Child Abuse and Neglect Clearance
  • First Aid and CPR Certifications
  • Alabama Career Essentials (ACE) Course
  • ACEC Part 1 (Foundations) Completion - Basic OHR Standards Met
  • ACEC Part 2 (Advanced) Completion

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED OR - Has scored 145 or higher on all 4 subjects of the GED Ready practice test.
  • Medical Screening
  • Drug Test
  • TB Skin Test
  • Criminal Background Check ( Public/Fingerprint)

Earn Your Forklift Certification: Complete MAPS, ACE, and Coursework!

This Caterpillar Forklift training class will allow students to earn a certificate and will cover the following information:

  • Lift truck fundamentals
  • Safe load-handling techniques
  • Principles of Stability; balance and capacity
  • Refueling IC trucks
  • Pre-operation inspection
  • Charging batteries for electric trucks
  • Safety guidelines for operating lift trucks

The Adult Education Career Pathways, help students develop essential workforce skills, including: Computer Literacy, Math for Work, Financial Literacy, Workplace Communication, Workplace Etiquette, Resolving Problems in the Workplace, Healthy Workplace Environment, Employment Preparation, Workplace Safety, and much more!

Successful completion also leads to scholarships, articulated credit, and certificates.

This class provides students portable, industry-recognized credentials which will provide them opportunities to enroll in one of Bishop State's many non-credit Workforce Development Programs such as the Alabama Power Lineman Program, Ingall's Marine Electrical and Shipfitter programs, ALDOT's Heavy Highway Construction Program, and the NABTU Construction program. Each of these programs would lead to high-wage, high-demand employment in the region. Essential Employability Skills are embedded in the curriculum.

-OSHA 10 (Online) General Industry or Construction
