Bishop State Adult Ed Department along with The Alabama Community Early Childhood Education program is offering a comprehensive 12-week training course designed to prepare and inspire the next generation of early childhood educators.

- High School Diploma or GED OR - Has scored 145 or higher on all 4 subjects of the GED Ready practice test.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Daytime 9am-2pm **PRE-SCREENING/SPRING 2025 WAITLIST**

* Student MUST meet requirements for fee waiver**
A Reading TABE test is required prior to the course. If a student scores on the E Level, we will require a review and approval upon entering the course.
Students will receive their certification for this class after they have completed MAPS, ACE and all coursework.
- Pass a Drug Test
- Pass Criminal Background Check (not an automatic disqualifier - specifics need to be discussed)
- Have current state issued Drivers License/Identification
* Perform basic nursing skills within the scope of practice for a nursing assistant certified by the Alabama State Public Health Department.
* Safely and effectively perform personal care skills for residents.Recognize the psychological, emotional, physical and spiritual needs of residents.
* Demonstrate skills which provide for restorative needs to promote the resident independence.
* Demonstrate appropriate attitude in giving nursing care.
* Exhibit proper ethical and legal behavior in giving nursing care.
* Demonstrate behavior that maintains the rights of the resident, privacy, and confidentiality.

Certified Phlebotomy Technician

3. Pass a drug/health test
4. Pass Criminal Background Check
5. Have a current state-issued Alabama Driver’s License/Identification
Demonstrate they have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Forklift Training Waitlist

Earn Your Forklift Certification: Complete MAPS, ACE, and Coursework!
This Caterpillar Forklift training class will allow students to earn a certificate and will cover the following information:
- Lift truck fundamentals
- Safe load-handling techniques
- Principles of Stability; balance and capacity
- Refueling IC trucks
- Pre-operation inspection
- Charging batteries for electric trucks
- Safety guidelines for operating lift trucks

The Adult Education Career Pathways, help students develop essential workforce skills, including: Computer Literacy, Math for Work, Financial Literacy, Workplace Communication, Workplace Etiquette, Resolving Problems in the Workplace, Healthy Workplace Environment, Employment Preparation, Workplace Safety, and much more!
Successful completion also leads to scholarships, articulated credit, and certificates.
Intro to Construction and Laborers **PRE-SCREENING/SPRING 2025 WAITLIST**

This class provides students portable, industry-recognized credentials which will provide them opportunities to enroll in one of Bishop State's many non-credit Workforce Development Programs such as the Alabama Power Lineman Program, Ingall's Marine Electrical and Shipfitter programs, ALDOT's Heavy Highway Construction Program, and the NABTU Construction program. Each of these programs would lead to high-wage, high-demand employment in the region. Essential Employability Skills are embedded in the curriculum.

Logistics Associate Waitlist

ONLINE COURSE INCLUDES:

- Workkeys National Career Readiness Certificate
Logistics Associates are responsible for monitoring stock levels and overseeing the movement of incoming and outgoing goods.
1. Order, track, and report inventory and deliveries.
2. Manage warehouse inventory.
3. Respond to shipping complaints, lost items, damages.
4. Coordinate shipments for various locations.
5. Follow schedules of product distribution.
6. Work with carrier and third-party services.
